I look to Mother Nature to guide me in healing
No matter the joy or the sorrow I'm feeling I look to the sun to give me its light Making the world below it come alive, so beautiful and bright I listen to the world waking up in the morning The wind as it dances, the birds as they're singing She is waking us up in the most magnificient way Giving us peace and magic to start our day I think about the earth and what it means to me It meant to be empathetic, caring, and free To protect Mother Earth is to protect all of us But to damage Mother Earth is to damage all of us We must cherish everything she provides for this planet The people, the plants, and animals on it These are what create our beautiful mornings We must not ignore her signs and her warnings She provides us these joys so we can learn to give To prosper under her beauty, to thrive and to live How do you find beauty in all her creations? As of now, there is no place for optimism in environmentalism
Ignorance is no longer an option We need to be more fearful of our future Know not of the raging wildfires that engulf the earth in flames
When it comes to the planet we fall for politicians' games The biggest lie we are ever told is that no individual action of ours could ever be bold Bold enough to clean the oceans or reduce our fossil fuels That standing up for what you believe in is not considered cool Politicians use these lies in fear of one thing: They are terrified of the change we will bring. Every motion, every step Every action that you take makes the idealism of money and corruption break When we speak up and boycott big corporations, it will be our generation taking over the nation If 10 years now is all we have left, we cannot let these lies get away with theft Theft of our voice, our power, our change The beauty of this world is not out of range Stand up, speak up. You have a voice. These big corporations are just the white noise Every time you speak out a new flower of optimism begins to sprout Plant a seed and watch it grow Your passion will blossom more than you know The change you make will soar for miles, and for all your frowns hold onto your smiles There are people that will judge and people that will hate But you know it is beauty that you will create. I can feel you slipping away as time passes by
Knowing there's nothing I can do, but doing everything to try You are caving and breaking and because of what we are taking I have nothing to say except... I'm sorry Sorry we destroyed your beauty that was given unconditionally Sorry we took the gifts you gave but it was really greed that we received Sorry for rendering lifeless some of your most beautiful creations When you gave us the gift of life, we gave you impatience and all that you ever did was surround us with your everlasting grace But I will fight for you forever because I love you so And I will give you the ability again to spread your wings and grow Mother Nature, we are sorry. |
poetryI have always found that poetry has a special way of building a connection to the world around me, especially environmental poems. Here, I share my poetry about mother earth. |
